At Laurel Hill Camp, nothing matters more to us than the safety, health, and well-being of our camp community. To ensure a fun, vibrant, and safe summer for all of our campers and staff, we strictly adhere to the New York State (NYS) Department of Health guidelines regarding immunizations.

Our Vaccination Requirement

Laurel Hill Camp requires that all campers be fully up-to-date on their routine childhood vaccinations prior to the start of camp. Consistent with New York State public health laws for children's camps, campers will not be permitted to attend camp without proper, up-to-date immunization records on file.

Required Documentation

Before your child’s first day of camp, you must submit a copy of their official immunization record signed by a licensed healthcare provider. This record must show compliance with the standard NYS school and camp vaccine schedules, including but not limited to:

• DTaP/Tdap (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)

• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

• Polio

• Varicella (Chickenpox)

• Hepatitis B

• Meningococcal conjugate (for eligible age groups)

Please Note: In accordance with NYS law, non-medical (religious) exemptions are not accepted. Valid medical exemptions must be documented and signed by a physician licensed to practice medicine in New York State, detailing the specific medical contraindication.

Acceptable forms of documentation include:

1. An official immunization record signed or stamped by a licensed healthcare provider.

2. Electronic records generated directly from the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) or the Citywide Immunization Registry (CIR) (no signature required).

3. Official Laboratory Serology (Titer) Reports showing positive immunity. Titers are legally acceptable only for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (Chickenpox), and Polio. Titers are not accepted for Diphtheria, Tetanus, or Pertussis.

4. An official NYS Medical Exemption Form signed by a physician licensed to practice in New York State certifying that an immunization is detrimental to a child's health.

Submission Deadlines & Grace Periods

Campers may not continue to attend camp for more than 7 calendar days from their first day of camp unless proper documentation has been received.

• Out-of-State Campers: Campers traveling to camp from outside New York State or from another country are granted a 14-calendar-day window to achieve full compliance.

• Appointments: Please note that proof of a future doctor's appointment cannot be accepted in place of required immunization records.
